Gold Island Empty Gold Island

Post by migurashi Tue May 20, 2014 9:04 pm

Location: New World

Primarily expansive jungles of gold, with golden trails that lead into a massive, El Dorado-esque city. Completely devoid of life save for the horrified faces of golden statues that litter the streets, homes, and even the jungles.

Gold Island, once known as Green Island for its lush and expansive greenery, has since become a massive treasure trove (as well as a giant graveyard of gold) due to the consumption of a Devil Fruit that gives the user the ability to transform everything they touch into pure gold. The island's King, now only known as Midas, had eaten the fruit after hearing rumors that it gave whoever ate it everlasting riches. Shortly after turning his wife and children into golden statues, Midas went mad, turning everything, from the trees, to the streets, to the citizens, into gold. Today, the island sits as unclaimed territory, the legend of the island and its history becoming increasingly popular with pirates and marines alike. Whoever stakes a claim on the island is sure to have more than enough wealth for the heart's desires!

Though this was over 80 years ago, there are rumors that King Midas still sits on his golden throne, waiting for fools to try and plunder his island...
