Geography
-----------------------------------

Where Is It Located?
Watarigarasu Island is a place in the Grand Line, on the other side known as the New World. Along the Eastern edges of the sea, it is considered a large body of land that was once known as a tropical paradise - filled with many groves, trees, vibrant flora, and rich soil. That, however, was many centuries ago. The land now has been replaced with leveled, oriental-style buildings - the citizens, lands, and bounty of the island being ravaged and rampaged long ago by a nortorious pirate clan known as the Arashi, which had made the place their stationary base for their budding families.

If I Were To Visit, What Would I See?
Nothing good. What transformed from a beautiful island to a bustling village is now turned into a run-down, vile land scattered with bleak, omnious ravens and trash from the unkempt state of its buildings. Due to enemy pirate raids and the stripping of riches from the Celestial Dragons' influence, the island is a desolate area where only a few hundred remain to live in terrible conditions.

  • The Docks ~ A stone-crafted wall has been built around the emcompassing island of the Crows - which includes a double-sided door to allow entry at each point of access from the seas - the North, the South, and the West. The family's emblem stands proudly on the front of the door as well, a widespread Crow with wings elongated and splayed out - though due to centuries of being up, it is lacking in fortitude and upkeep. Graffiti paints along these doors as well, cursing the Crows, and the reconstruction of the doors are very much needed. It is still resilient enough to keep most crews out, but those with fortified ships and structures can easily bypass through its design. Windows are placed along the wall as well, where able-man Arashi stand in wait, those trained in combat, archery, and swordsmanship to help defend from intruders.
  • Labyrinth of Crows ~ In true, Oriental-tradition, the houses of the Arashi are all lined up in a combined structure that leaves only room in between for the clan to walk and navigate through. Houses and shops are separated in their own 'districts', yet, the entire village is technically one building placed together in a maze-like design. What separates the Residental and Commercial districts are rivers placed in between the maze's opening like barriers, where only bridges or boats allow the people to cross over into the other district.
  • Kyuseishu Shrine ~ Otherwise known as the 'Temple of Maneshitsugumi" or 'Saviour's Shrine', this is where the Arashi celebrates their once beloved leader and his legendary sword - Karasu no Kusho. It laids towards the highest point of the Labyrinth, allowing for visitors of the family to come and see, though with the years of abuse upon the land, it has been desecrated many times.

Treasures and Trials
-----------------------------------

What Do They Have That Is So Valuable?
Everything, at one point. Most of the New World's considered 'treasures' have been passed through the hands of an Arashi at one point or another. From rare jewels to weaponry to boats, they possess a high knowledge of the grand scale of things within the seas. Since their seige by their enemies, they have lost many of their treasures, but have retained bits and pieces of Karasu no Kusho and separated him into forged various Wazamono-grade swords to be used. These are the only things remaining as the Arashi's most valuable possessions.

  • Karasu no Jisatsu: The Crow of Fear. Rapier.
  • Karasu no Kanashi: The Crow of Sadness. Katana.
  • Karasu no Senbo: The Crow of Envy. Dao.
  • Karasu no Yoku: The Crow of Greed. Kodachi.
  • Karasu no Boryoku: The Crow of Violence. Executioner's Blade.
  • Karasu no Ikari: The Crow of Rage. Scimitar.

Why Do They Have Trials?
As a proud family, majority of the Arashi endure trials of combat and knowledge in order to prepare them for the seas. When they were more thriving, many Arashi took on jobs as merchants and traders in order to learn the ways of other pirates and clans, taking homage from Ween to Wano Country. Because of this, they're well-versed in the way of exchange and knowledge of the current ongoings of the seas.
As of recent, however, only a few hundred Arashi remain, with many of them turning away from the life of a sword and piracy due to the talents being used at the higher Nobility's whim. Many are left disposed of their former glory, with only those possessing the family's natural Kenbunshoku talents to move along in combat. Those who possess these talents are branded as higher authority's property, and their 'skills' mostly used in petty combat and personal war wages admongst higher echelon of society. Most are forced into slavery or prostitution, or poor merchanting and trading, in order to continue to live their lives, while holding onto the hope that one day they will be free of their current bondage.
