Katrina Island

Katrina Island is an island with a heavily disturbed weather. Even in the few times that it's sunny, the island is assaulted by constant storms with heavy wind and rain; the whole sea surrounding the island is extremely agitated and most routes towards it are assaulted with big waves, requiring a skilled navigator to even reach the docks without sinking. The buildings are very sturdy, built to endure this wild weather, which includes but isn't limited to sudden twisters and constant waves crashing against it, without breaking. Though the citizen are mostly peaceful and will allow nearly anybody to dock within the island, they are reserved and will be suspicious of pirates. World Government forces are not allowed near.

The island is a fortress shaped by nature. With most of the island being next to impossible to dock due to the amount of mountains and rocks throughout its territory and wild monsters that live inside the mountains and forests, the docks are the only point that ships can approach from; within its sturdy buildings, the island has heavy weapons pointed towards that direction and several watchposts in case known enemies approach. Additionally, it's guarded by much of the Twisted Pirates' standing crew; even without them, the average citizen of Katrina is said to possess a fair amount of strength on his own due to being raised in this hostile island with a harsh weather. A tough place that made tough men.

Geography

Where is it located?

Katrina is located within the New World, the second half of the Grand Line. It's close to the in expansion territory of Ashara D. Lilith's pirate alliance, making borders with the former territories of Ben Donalds, the deceased Yonkou that has been taken over by a man who cannot administrate his newly gained territories properly. Though the island has a risk of being attacked for that, the awful weather and the hostile citizen put together make it so attacks with the intention to conquer are discouraged, having nearby islands to be more attractive, which grants it a certain degree of "camouflage".



Island's Keypoints

• The Eye - Name given to the core of the city. Its mostly composed of houses, which are sturdy structures capable of resisting the strongest wind and rain to the point that a twister still wouldn't phase them. The tallest houses in The Eye are given to those citizens that wish to join Katrina Defense, an unofficial organisation that protects the island in case of enemies or World Government forces which aren't trusted - even hated, to a degree - in here; such houses are equipped with heavy weapons pointed towards the sea. In case the watchposts detect a known enemy or World Government ship, an alarm will sound and coordinates will be sent for shooting.
  
• The Coliseum - East of the island there's a Coliseum built with underground cages. These cages are filled with a mix of those pirates that were foolish enough to try causing any trouble, marines that were lucky enough to reach the island and prisoners captured by the Twisted Pirates; they're severely mistreated and occasionally put to fight against each other or against the island's captured beasts. Several bets on who's going to die or who will the last standing one be are made.
  
• The Mountains - Also known as the Mitch. Katrina is a very mountainous place, with such landscape covering a good part of the island in a circle, surrounding the Forest. These mountains are sometimes mined for iron, silver or precious gems by adventurous spirits, however, those who have a better common sense leave it alone due to the wild beasts that live inside them or happen to appear there; there are rumours of even more terrifying creatures that live under the mountains, but those haven't been confirmed as no one has decided to dig so deeply.
  
• The Forest - Also known as the Floyd. If there's a place more dangerous than the mountains, it's the forest. Located in the center of the mountainous region, the forest is covered in mud due to the constant rains that assault the island. Within this forest there are said to exist several kinds of poisonous plants - you never know when a harmless scratch made by a simple branch that was standing in the way is really that harmless. As the forest is very dense, not many types of creatures other than brown snakes live here, but those use the constant mud to camouflage themselves and approach wanderers undetected.
  
• Weather Center - Should somebody somehow fly over the top of the mountain or be brave enough to go through the forests to find the carved stairs on the near base of its mountain, they can reach the Weather Center, a castle located to the northeast of the island at the top of a mountain. As the island exists in a constant state of storm, it's not strange to find that several citizens have taken interest in studying the weather, developing technology to predict sudden shifts in the wind or rain with a decent accuracy and in a timely manner - such a thing is able to forewarn citizen within The Eye to brace for what's coming, which sometimes may require locking themselves inside their sturdy houses.
